Time is Running Out to Apply for Our Spring Program!

CALLING ALL LEADERS, CHANGEMAKERS AND REBELS WITH A CAUSE, 15-19 YEARS OLD

The Ya-Ya Network is currently looking for smart, passionate, and motivated young people with an interest in activism and/or community organizing. We are seeking youth (15-19 years old) that want to learn how to take on a leadership position in a variety of social justice movements by building the skills needed to make change happen. Ya-Ya doesn’t just want anyone; we want youth with an eye for injustice and an impatience to see positive change in their communities.

We meet Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30.

We will delve deeply into issues of social justice, examining root causes, structural, and historical factors that contribute to inequality. While facilitators will provide guidance, you will be expected to engage in some independent inquiry and self-directed study. You will also have opportunities to facilitate workshops based on your interests. You will build coalitions with other organizations and develop and participate in various campaigns.

If you join us, you will be expected to participate in workshops and organizing activities three days a week, Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30 and occasionally attend additional activities (meetings, films, conferences, protests). If you maintain consistent participation, you will receive a stipend of $150 every month for your work and an opportunity to apply for a youth staff position. You might also be able to arrange community service credit or independent study credit from your school.

Think a Ya-Ya internship is for you? If so, email us at info@yayanetwork.org and we'll email you an application.
