Last Fall we suddenly started getting a bunch of rude, incoherent and grammatically incorrect emails and phone calls. It turns out that Glenn Beck called us out by name on his national TV show. (starting around minute 16). We couldn't be prouder.

Now, we are still here & Glenn Beck is gone!

Yeah, yeah. Most people agree that war sucks. But why bother to do something to stop it? Before you tune in to your daily dose of "Reality TV" Check out our video "The War Will Not Be Televised"

Who we are:

The Ya-Ya Network is a multi-issue non-profit youth led social justice organization specializing in Counter-Military Recruitment. We participate in various campaigns, mobilizations and coalitions across the city, state and nation. We also educate, outreach and provide resources on many different issues impacting both youth and adults. The youth of the Ya-Ya Network are committed to building the next generation of activists in the movement for social, economic and racial justice. We are actively anti-racist, anti-sexist and allies to the LGBTQ community.

We are currently one of the few groups made up primarily of youth of color who are active in the counter-military recruitment movement.

*We lead workshops and trainings to make sure our peers get accurate information, not just a recruiter’s sales pitch.
*We help other youth groups and schools set up their own counter recruitment campaigns.
*We do research and produce written material and fliers that you can download here.
*We formed a coalition of students, teachers and parents and got the New York City Department of Education to pass a city-wide policy limiting recruiter access to our schools.
*We hold an annual “Alternatives to the Military” career fair, giving students access to employers, colleges, trade schools, free job training programs, travel/service programs, financial aid, etc.
*We help young people who have joined the military under the delayed entry program, but have changed their minds and no longer want to go.
*We help people who are being harassed by recruiters or who want to do something about recruiter misconduct.
